The Madison County Cross Country Invitational was held Tuesday in Collinsville. Edwardsville took the boys’ and girls’ large-school team titles. The Alton Redbirds boys were 4th while the Lady Redbirds finished 6th in the large-school division.
In the small school standings:
The Roxana Lady Shells won the girls title while the C.M. took the boys team championship. Roxana was followed by the C.M. Eagles on the girls side. The C.M. boys edged the EA/WR Oilers on the boys side Tuesday.
In the small-school girls race:
First place went to C.M.’s Alex Singleton. Roxana’s Kyrston Scifres was 2nd. Natalie Halliday of Marquette finished in 3rd place. Shalyn Edwards (Rox) was 4th, Haley Kerpan (EA/WR) was 5th, Peyton Young (Rox) 8th and Marissa Thomas (Rox) 9th.
In the small-school boys race:
EA/WR’s Garrett Fulkerson won first place followed by (2nd) C.M.’s Sam Hurst. EA/WR's Matthew Shea - 3rd; C.M.’s Ryan Gunter - 4th; C.M.’s Frank Trost - 5th.
