The C.M. Lady Eagles won its first ever girls basketball regional championship Thursday night.  The Eagles shot past the Highland Bulldogs, 52-38 to win the Class 3A CM regional title.  C.M. now stands at 24-and-7 on the year while the Lady Bulldogs finish the season at 17-and-13.

Tory Knight and Addie Ballard led the Eagles with 10 points apiece.  McKenzie Satterfield scored 9 for Civic Memorial. Megan Trost added 6 points and 8 rebounds.  (Hannah Niemeier and Brittany Zipprich also scored 6 points each)

Lindsey Fencel filled up the stat sheet with 5 points, 12 assists and 6 steals.

C.M. will face Metropolis (Massac County) Monday in the Waterloo 3A sectional semi’s.

The Lady Patriots beat Herrin, 41-30 last night to win the 3A Herrin regional title.
