#17 Ohio State defeated Illinois, 75-67 in Big Ten basketball Sunday in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes improve to 20-and-5 on the season -- 11-and-1 in the conference. The Fighting Illini drop to 12-and-12 overall and 2-and-9 in the Big Ten.
Illinois held a 30-15 lead midway through the first half but then went the last 10 minutes of the half without scoring a point - as the Buckeyes went on a 19-0 run to take a 34-30 lead at halftime.
Keita Bates-Diop had a career high 35 points while grabbing 13 rebounds. Rebounds favored Ohio State, 45-22. Mark Alstork led the Illini with 19 points. Trent Frazier added 12 in a losing cause.
