You heard the action on The Big Z as Kendrick Nunn added 10 points to help the Fighting Illini improve to 4-5 in the Big Ten and 14-8 overall. D.J. Newbill scored 20 points for the Nittany Lions, who drop to 14-8 overall and 2-7 in the conference with the loss.
Illinois is back on the court Tuesday night when they welcome Rutgers to State Farm Center.
Rice and Cosby Suspended Indefinitely
The news out of Champaign wasn't all positive despite an Illini win over Penn State Saturday. Prior to the game, Illinois head coach John Groce announced that senior guard Rayvonte Rice and junior guard Aaron Cosby have been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules. Groce declined to elaborate on the specifics but did indicate that the two could return to the team this season if they "make better choices and make the necessary progress to rejoin the line up".
