Number-13 Illinois defeated Western Carolina, 72-64 at Assembly Hall in Champaign Tuesday night. Illinois improved to 9-and-0 with the victory while the Catamounts fell to 3-and-6 with the loss. Brandon Paul led the Illini with 14 points, D.J. added 13 and Tracy Abrams finished with 10.
Western Carolina got a game high 17 points from Preston Ross while Brandon Boggs added 16 in a losing cause.
