Ohio’s John Groce has been introduced as Illinois’ next men’s basketball coach. The 40-year old Groce has been the head coach of the Ohio Bobcats for the last four years. Ohio earned a Sweet 16 berth in this season’s NCAA Tournament, where the Bobcats fell to top seeded North Carolina in overtime.

Groce replaces Bruce Weber, who was fired on March 9, after nine seasons with the Fighting Illini. Weber went 210-101 at Illinois.
