Illinois edged Chicago State, 82-79 in college basketball Monday night in Springfield.
Freshman Jalen Coleman-Lands hit the game-winning three-pointer from the corner at the buzzer. It was his fourth three-pointer of the game as he finished with 12 points. Malcolm Hill and Mike Thorne, Jr. also scored 12 points apiece on the night. Michael Finke led the Illini with 17 points.
Illinois improves to 2-and-3 with the win while Chicago State falls to 3-and-2.
Elliott Cole scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Chicago State Cougars.
