In the game you heard yesterday on the Big Z the Fighting Illini got hammered by the Badgers 48-3. The Illini defense held Wisconsin to 92 passing yards, the second-fewest in a game by the Badgers this season. But Illinois couldn't  contain the Badgers running game - giving up 363 yards on the ground. A returning Wes Lunt started the second half - relieving Jeff George Jr. who threw for 79 yards in the first. Lunt finished the game 2-for-8 for 22 yards. Next up for the Illini is The Iowa Hawkeyes next Saturday in Champaign.

The Fighting Illini Men's Cross Country Team has earned a bid to the NCAA Championships for the first time in 30 years. Coming off of a third-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Friday, Head Coach Jake Stewart's squad becomes the first Illini team to make nationals since 1986. NCAA Championships will be on Saturday, in Terre Haute, Indiana at the LaVern Gibson Championships Cross Country Course.

 

The Fighting Illini Women's Volleyball team fell to Minnesota yesterday 3 games to nil. With the loss, the Illini move to 14-13 on the season and 7-9 in the Big Ten. Illinois wraps up its regular-season home slate next weekend, hosting Maryland on Friday  and Ohio State on Saturday, with both matches set to start at 7 p.m

The Illini's Women's basketball team opened regular season play on Friday,  falling to the Marshall Thundering Herd, 55-53. Illinois now will be playing host to Arkansas Pine Bluff at noon today.

 

Coming off a 81-62 victory over Southeast Missouri in the season opener on Friday the Fighting Illini Men's Basketball team is gearing up to take on Northern Kentucky today at 5 and you can catch that game right here on the Big Z, our coverage starts at 4.
