Marquette's run in the IHSA Class 4A football playoffs came to an abrupt end yesterday in Harrisburg, as the host Bulldogs made quick work of the Explorers. Harrisburg scored on their opening drive and led 7-0 after the first quarter. They posted another touchdown in the second quarter to lead 14-0 at the half.
The Bulldogs poured it on in the third quarter, scoring three times in the period to increase their lead to 35-0 heading into the fourth and final frame. The Explorers managed to put together a scoring drive midway through the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late as the Bulldogs went on to win 41-7.
Harrisburg improves to 11-1 on the season and they advance to the Class 4A Semi-finals next weekend. The Explorers finish the year at 10-2.
