The Class 1A and 2A girls basketball regionals tipped off Monday night around the state of Illinois.
Breese Central (2A) regional: Marquette edged Roxana, 43-38. The Explorers were led by Abby Porter with 14 points – Sam Darr added 12 while Emma Snider chipped in with 8.
The Lady Shells got a game high 15 points from Paige Stacy while Maddie Sheraka added 13 on the night. Roxana finished 14-and-13 on the year.

Also in Breese last night – Trenton Wesclin eliminated EA/WR, 61-28. Zoe Christopher led the Warriors with 15 points. The Lady Oilers got 14 from Kari Westbrook and 10 from Mallory Lovings.

Trenton Wesclin plays number two seed Carlyle in the regional semi’s tonight at 7:30 pm (following the Marquette – Breese Central contest).
