The Cardinals had a walk-off win over the Cincinnati Reds Thursday night at Busch Stadium. The Cards edged the Reds, 4-3 in a controversial ending to the game.
The Reds scored a run in the 8th inning and one in the 9th to tie the game at 3-3. Then in the bottom of the 9th - with 2 outs - Yadier Molina hit a double to left field scoring Matt Carpenter from first base. But the hit should have been ruled a ground-rule double putting runners at 2nd and 3rd. The ball bounced off the turf and went over the wall and hit a billboard sign.
