The St. Louis Cardinals will try to avoid a series sweep when they take on the New York Yankees later today. Yesterday, The Yankees lifted CC Sabathia to victory and extended their winning streak to six games with a 3-2 victory over the Cardinals at Yankee Stadium.
With the loss, the Cards fall to 3-8 on the season, matching the organization's worst 11-game start in the Wild Card era. Starter Carlos Martinez pitched 5.1 innings, and drops to 0-2 on the season. Adam Wainwright, who has never played in Yankee Stadium, will get the start for St. Louis. The first pitch is set for 6:05pm Central time.
