The Cardinals came from behind to beat the Pirates yesterday 4-3, despite a poor showing by Cards opener Michael Wacha. Wacha gave up a three-run long ball in the first inning. Wacha left after the first, which kicked off a bullpen showcase. Six Cardinals relievers combined to strike out 12, while allowing five hits over eight scoreless innings. With the Giants' victory over the Dodgers, the Redbirds enter today's game one game behind San Francisco for the second National League Wild Card spot. First pitch today against the Pirates is scheduled for 2:15 with Adam Wainright starting on the mound for the Cards.
