On the job for a little more than a month, Mike has been named the Cardinals' new manager. The interim tag has been removed, and Shildt has been signed to a three-year deal. Shildt took over the team just before the All-Star break, and has led the team back into contention for a playoff spot. In 38 games, the Cardinals have gone 26-12 and have bypassed seven other teams to move to the top of the National League wild-card standings.
