The Cardinals edged the Reds, 5-4 in Cincinnati Wednesday night. The Cards scored 4 runs in the first inning and never trailed in the game. Brandon Moss got the scoring started in the top of the 1st with a 2-run double. Greg Garcia made it 4-0 with a 2-run single.
Stephen Piscotty added a 5th inning home run - his 15th of the season. Michael Wacha pitched 5-innings and allowed 2-runs to improve to 7-and-7. Cincinnati starter Cody Reed (0-6) allowed 5-runs in 5-innings of work.
**St. Louis moved into sole possession of the 2nd Wild Card spot in the N.L. with the win. Miami is a half-game back; the Mets are 2-games behind. Pittsburgh and Colorado are both 3-games back in the Wild Card race.
