(St. Louis, MO) -- The St. Louis Cardinals have signed free-agent infielder Ronny Cedeno to a one-year contract. The 29-year-old hit .259 with four home runs and 22 RBI in 78 games for the New York Mets last year. The eight-year veteran played shortstop, second base and third base. To make room, the Cards designated pitcher Barret Browning for assignment.
