The St. Louis Cardinals started their 2020 season with a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Friday night at Busch Stadium. Tyler O'Neil homered in the 3rd and Dexter Fowler smacked a home run in the 5th inning. Yadier Molina drove in Paul Goldschmidt in the 6th inning. The Pirates got two runs back in the top of the 7th, Flaherty's last inning of work. Paul DeJong added a 2-run homer in the 8th inning. Kwang Hyun Kim came in to work the 9th inning, giving up 2 runs in his major league debut, but got the save.
The series runs through the weekend. Today's and Sunday's games are at 1:15pm. Adam Wainwright will get the ball for the Cards today, opposite the Pirates' Trevor Williams. On Suday, St. Louis sends Dakota Hudson to the mound, while the Pirates counter with Mitch Keller.
