The boys golf regional teed off on Tuesday. Riverbend teams advancing to the sectional round include Marquette, C.M., and EA/WR. Individual golfers are also moving on to the sectionals from Alton & Roxana.
Marquette won the Class 2A Roxana Regional at Belk Park Golf Course in Wood River – while Greenville finished 2nd and C.M. 3rd. Those three teams are advancing to the Waterloo sectional on Monday. Roxana has two individual golfers that also advanced – Zack Moore and Zach Carlisle (83s).
Marquette’s Michael Holtz and Nick Messinger each shot 78s. Max Goepel had an 81 while Andrew McClusky added an 87.
C.M. was led by J. Ryan Waters with a 74.
Jersey’s Zach Droege advanced with a 79.
In the Class 3A Belleville East regional: Edwardsville won the title followed by Belleville West & Quincy. The Tigers Justin Hemings was the medalist with a 74.
Alton had two golfers advance to the Homewood-Flossmoor sectional – Sam Ballard (84) & Alex Rubin (85).
And in the Class 1A Metro East Regional - The top 3 teams were:
B. Mater Dei (331), Metro East (338), & EA/WR (341) all advance to the Wesclin sectional which will be held at Governor's Run Golf Course in Carlyle.
