Blues goalie Brian Elliott made 31 saves leading St. Louis to a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks in Game One of the Western Conference Final at Scottrade Center Sunday night.
Jori Lehtera broke a 1-1 tie with the game-winning goal midway through the second period. The unassisted goal came at 9:15 of the second period. David Backes scored a power play goal in the first period for the Blues.
The Sharks outshot the Blues, 32-23. Martin Jones made 21 saves for San Jose in a losing cause.
*Game Two of the series will be Tuesday night (7 pm) in St. Louis. Game Three will be Thursday night in San Jose.
