Former East St. Louis center Jeremiah Tilmon announced Monday that he has made a verbal commitment to play for the University of Illinois men's basketball team one year from now.
The 6-foot-10-inch Tilman transferred from East St. Louis to a high school in Indiana last season. He played for the (ESL) Flyers for two years. He is currently nursing a shoulder injury but preparing for his senior season of high school basketball in Indiana.
Tilmon picked the Fighting Illini over such schools as North Carolina, Texas, Michigan State, Kansas, and Missouri.
Scout.com had Tilmon ranked as the nation's 19th overall recruit.
