Missouri Botanical Garden Member Speaker Series: French Kitchen Gardens from Versailles to Villandry

Journey to the French countryside in this lively free lecture featuring Dr. Eric T. Haskell, Professor of French Studies and Interdisciplinary Humanities at Scripps College and Director of the Clark Humanities Museum. Explore the history and aesthetics of the potager, or French kitchen garden, starting with the Sun King’s celebrated potager at Versailles and continuing with the kitchen gardens at Saint Jean de Beauregard, near Paris, and of Villandry, the jewel in the crown of Loire Valley landscapes.

This free lecture is part of the Garden’s free Member Speaker Series and is typically limited to Garden members only. For this special program, supporters and subscribers of Alliance Française de St. Louis may attend the lecture and enjoy FREE Garden entry for the day. Space is limited.
