ReVIVE Workshop
3/16/2018 -
Class Description: Revive Restorative Yoga Relax and renew with the Revive Restorative Yoga experience with Louise. The journey begins with centering the mind, body, and spirit through breathwork and intention setting. We then begin to warm up the body with energizing breathwork, gentle movements, and supported balance poses - gently increasing strength, balance, and internal heat. Finally, we use breathwork to activate the relaxation response during our traditional restorative yoga postures, which includes longer holds and the use of props for support and comfort. Bio: Louise M. Hamlin-Laird Louise, B.S. in Human Services from SIUE specializing in deviant behavioral studies, and RYT 200, has over 40 years of experience with breathwork, athletics, mindful movement and social justice. A lifelong career working with at risk youth and families combined with extensive training and experience in crisis management, de-escalation, and hostage negotiations inspire and inform her practice and ability to see and communicate the potentially life saving benefits of yoga, meditation, and breathwork. She enjoys all water activities, traveling, gardening, reading, learning, and outdoor adventures. Her practice is inspired by her understanding that, “the healing benefits of yoga are phenomenal and not just for the individual – for the world.” Louise loves bringing yoga to people and meeting them where they are – mind, body, spirit. Expect a welcoming atmosphere, playfulness and exploration in her classes.
