March 2018
Plant Spirit Immersion
3/10/2018 -
Join herbalist Kristine Brown, RH (AHG) once a month as we start off on a plant journey. Each month we will focus on one plant family. Through meditation, sketching, observation and tea tasting we will get to know that family and several herbs from that family. We'll compare the similarities and differences of the plants, look at plant family patterns and how to identify plants in that family.

Each session will feature a plant walk to observe the plants in the family we are visiting, meditation with one or two plant spirits from that family, botanical sketching and journaling, working with the family medicinally and more. Participants will receive a handout about the plant family, any remedies we prepare during the session, and some dried and/or fresh herbs to take home to further their study throughout the month.

The following is the tentative schedule of families we will be studying (with some adjustments based on plants that are at their prime at the time we are scheduled to meet - sometimes the plants don't stick to their schedules for blooming!):

March 10, 2018 - Plantaginaceae family April 14, 2018 - Papaveraceae family May 12, 2018 - Rosaceae family June 9, 2018 - Malvaceae family July 14, 2018 - Apiaceae family August 11, 2018 - Lamiaceae family September 1, 2018 - Asteraceae family October 13, 2018 - Cupressoideae family
