Installment 1 of the 2018 Winter Lecture Series takes place on January 28 at 2 pm in the Interpretive Center Auditorium. The presentation, "Bound to the Western Waters: Searching for Lewis and Clark at Ft. Kaskaskia, IL." will be given by Mark Wagner, the Director of the Center for Archaeological Investigations and an Associate Professor of Anthropology at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. In this talk, Wagner discusses the history and archaeology of Fort Kaskaskia, the 1750s French state historic site in Randolph County, Illinois, and the American fort of the same name from which Lewis and Clark recruited 12 soldiers for their expedition to explore the American west in 1803. This is a free lecture.
