WHO: Great Rivers Greenway

WHAT: Second Annual Life Outside Festival Free activities include: tree climbing, kayaking lessons, birdwatching, rock climbing, stand up paddle boarding, gardening, yoga, nature crafts and activities, and walks and bike rides throughout the day. Live music featuring: Saint Boogie Brass Band, Riverbend, Mario Y Jingo and Celia’s Sing Along Dance Party. Food/Drinks: Area food trucks will be onsite with tasty morsels available for purchase

NEW TO 2017: Extreme Picnic Competition: Competition to showcase the finer side of living life outside. See who has the most extreme picnicking spread in St. Louis. Registered participants will be evaluated for creativity and execution across three categories including food, theme and presentation by a panel of local celebrity judges. WHY: The Life Outside festival is designed to encourage the residents of St. Louis to venture outdoors, explore a more active lifestyle and enjoy the great rivers, parks and communities within the St. Louis region. The 2017 Life Outside festival will feature a new extreme picnic competition, exciting outdoor activities, great live music, food trucks and fun for the whole family. This is a chance for people to discover fun new ways to enjoy the outdoors, try new activities and learn from the experts without spending a lot of time and money.

About Life Outside Festival

Life Outside is an free annual festival of the outdoors for St. Louis area residents that first launched in 2016 by Great Rivers Greenway. Area businesses, non-profit organizations, outfitters and clubs that are part of the outdoor industry/field in the St. Louis region come together to provide free outdoor activities for people of all ages to see, try and learn. Great Rivers Greenway is a regional greenway/parks and trails district, created by a vote of the people in the year 2000 to leave a legacy for future generations. That vote created a sales tax that funds the district to build, bring to life and care for the network of greenways.
