THE ODD COUPLE AUDITION

Curtain's Up Theater Company will hold auditions for their next production, The Odd Couple on Saturday, March 11^th at 1:30 p.m.

Auditions will be held at the Alfresco Performing Arts Center, 2041 Delmar Avenue, Granite City, IL 62040.

Those interested in auditioning should come with a prepared monologue or dialogue (no more than two characters).  Memorization is not required.  If you do not have access to a monologue, samples will be available for you to choose between at the audition.  Auditions will also consist of cold readings from the script.

The cast of characters for The Odd Couple (6 men, 2 women) is as follows:

Oscar Madison – Divorced 43 year old sports writer for the NY Post.  Pleasant and appealing who enjoys his friends, his cigars, his drinking, even his job.  His carefree attitude is evident in his sloppiness.

Felix Unger – Getting divorced, 44 year old news writer for CBS.  Complete opposite of Oscar.  Emotional, neat / clean to the point of obsessive and a bit of a hypochondriac.

Murray – Member of the poker club, happily married in his 40’s, NYC police officer, slow and methodical, sympathetic

Vinnie – Member of poker club, married, 42 years old.  A bit nervous and money conscious.  His wife is the boss.

Roy – Member of the poker club, an accountant, fairly even tempered.

Speed – Member of the poker club, easily aggravated.

Gwendolyn Pigeon – British, divorced, fun-loving, in her 30’s.

Cecily Pigeon – British, divorced, fun loving, in her 30’s.

Performances are April 28^th-29^th and May 5^th-6^th at the Alfresco Center for the Arts.
