Bring a picnic, a blanket, and your neighbors and friends to one of Edwardsville’s most treasured summer events - 7 weeks of arts entertainment and activities in Edwardsville City Park - Absolutely FREE! SATURDAY MORNINGS - 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Children’s Art Classes (K-4th) A Rainbow of Color: Dive into the power of color while exploring a variety of materials, artists and techniques. Each week we will tackle a large group project in addition to smaller individual pieces. June 18 -Yellow Immerse yourself in patterns of yellow through drawing (perspective), printmaking and stenciling projects June 25 -Blue Paint (still lifes & landscapes) and weave with shades of blue. July 9 - Red Build with clay and construct Calder-inspired sculptures. July 16 - Purple Explore all things purple while creating quilts, hanging sculptures and bubble paintings. July 23 - Orange Experience the bright and bold colors of Mark Rothko & Georgia O’Keefe through collage and painting. July 30 - Green Through transformation and transparency we will create a whimsical garden. Taught by local artists and art educators, Arts in the Park provides age-appropriate art experiences for children 5 – 10.
