Veterans Honored with Ceremony at SSP
Ceremony and Breakfast are Open to the Public

On Tuesday, November 11th, from 7:00am-11:00am, Senior Services Plus invites all active duty and retired servicemen and women to attend a free breakfast on Veterans Day. Any Veteran that can provide proof of service in the military (hat, shirt, pin, honorable discharge papers, military ID) is eligible for a free meal from the breakfast special menu.

At 9:30am, a ceremony to thank and honor all servicemen and women will be open to the public. Several guest speakers will discuss local programs and benefits available to Veterans. Devon Neal, Community Based Services Director and Supervisor, will discuss the Veterans Program offered at Senior Services Plus. Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies is a grant funded program from the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs Cash Grant Program.

The ceremony will also highlight Rodney Cook from Mission American Gratitude, Ray Wiedle from the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, and Tim Ogier from the Vet Center.

From 10:30am-11:30pm, entertainment will be offered by Cathy Croxton as she plays the dulcimer (classic folk instrument) and the piano. RSVP's to the ceremony are encouraged but not required.

Senior Services Plus is located at 2603 North Rodgers Avenue in Alton, Illinois. For more information, or to RSVP, call 618-465-3298 ext. 100. Additional information can be found at www.seniorservicesplus.org.
