Wynona Pearl “Pearlie” Runion, 77, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2014 at her home.

Born Dec. 10, 1937 in Alton, she was a daughter of Roy and Alice (Scoggins) Delp.

She married Donald R. Runion March 29, 1969 in Alton.  He passed away Feb. 6, 2011.

Pearlie had worked at Al-Can and in the deli at K-Mart.  She loved animals, crocheting and knitting, and gardening and canning from her garden.

Survivors include 2 loving sisters, Betty Landers of Wood River and Dixie Baldwin of Alton; a brother, Marvin Delp of East Alton; 3 sons, Reggie N. Runion of Wood River, Steven E. Runion of Georgia, and Donald R. Runion, Jr. of Roxana; 2 special nieces, Dena Bush of Wood River and Debra Kelly of Roxana; several other nieces and nephews; and her beloved “baby”, her Eskimo snow dog, Snowball.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Roy and Damon Delp.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Apr. 10 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 11.  Pastor Rocky Runion will officiate.

Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be given to the 5 A’s animal shelter.
