Wilma L. Renken, 89, passed away at 3:50 am Thursday, August 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 13, 1925 in Hamel, IL, the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Reising) Steinmann.
She married Vernon F. Renken on February 15, 1953 in Hamel. He passed away on June 27, 1988.
Wilma was a homemaker and a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lois (Augie) Dipazo of Alton, Jan (Ralph) Bode of Edwardsville, Barb (Terry) Johnson of Prairietown, Audrey (Dan) Daberkow of Pueblo West, CO, Carol (Gary) Bollmann of Edwardsville, Sandy (Bart) Wilson of Bethalto, Lisa Renken and Helen Meyer of Collinsville; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and her siblings, Helen Hesterberg of Michigan, Frieda Maack of Collinsville, Ruth Sievers of Staunton, Norma Steinmann of Hamel and Verna Langendorf of Hamel .
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Renken and two brothers, Paul Steinmann and Bud Steinmann.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue from 9 am until services at 10:00 am Monday, August 17, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Hofferber and Pastor Kale Hanson officiating.
Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto
Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or BJC Hospice.
