William “Bill” Carter, (67) of Glen Carbon, IL, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2015.
He was born March 9, 1948, in McComas, West Virginia to Cass and Margaret Carter who preceded him in death. He was educated in the West Virginia parochial and public education system and later served honorably in the U. S. Air Force as an air passenger specialist.
He is survived by his devoted wife Pamela (Lewis) Carter of 43 years, two daughters; Kayce and Maya, four brothers; Cass, Glen, Darrell and Timothy, three sisters; Cheryl, Theresa, Demetria, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a host of extended family and close friends.
Services will be held Monday, March 23 at Mt Joy Missionary Baptist, 327 Olive St, Edwardsville, IL 62025. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. Interment immediately following the services at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Cathy M. Williams & Sons Funeral Home in Alton in charge of arrangements.
