Wanda Louise Walls Vance, 83, formerly of East Alton and Wood River, passed away 1:23 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Heritage Manor in Carlinville.
Born on July 26, 1931 in Lyon County, KY, she was the daughter of Claudis W. "C.W." and Mattie (Ramey) Gray.
She had been a cook in the East Alton School District for many years and then served as a C.N.A. at VIP Manor in Wood River before retiring.
On May 14, 1947 in Hopkinsville, KY, she married Clyde "Woody" Walls. He died April 23, 1989. She then married Warren Vance, Sr. on September 7, 2001 in Camdenton, MO. He died May 25, 2007.
Wanda is survived by a son, Tony Walls of Brighton; daughter, Brenda (Larry) Mathis of Hettick; eight grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; both husbands; and a granddaughter, Tina Mathis Jennings.
Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Burial will follow in Woodland Hill Cemetery.
