Wanda Geist—Roxana
Wanda Faye Geist, 68, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born June 14, 1946 in East Alton, she was a daughter of Francis Goewey and Edith (Howland) Goewey Radfeld.
She married Bernard J. Geist, Sr. on Dec. 27, 1965 in Wood River. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother of Nebo, Ill.; a daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Albrecht of Wood River; a son, Bernard J. Geist, Jr. (Barbara Perkinson) of Roxana; 6 grandchildren, Kyle Geist, Ryan Geist, Brianne Hammond, Austin Hammond, Addisonn Faye Albrecht and Averie Albrecht; a sister, Erma (Norman) Koerner of Bethalto; and a brother, David Goewey, Sr. of Nebo.
She was preceded in death by her father; 2 sisters, Francis Eileen Lawrence and Dorothy Pyle; and a brother, Danny Goewey, Sr.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family.
