Walter W. “Bill” Huber, 65, passed away at 7:32 am, February 7, 2013 at St. Clare’s Rehab in Alton, IL.

He was born in Alton, IL on August 5, 1947 the son of the late Clarence and Loraine (Suellentrop) Huber.

He married Sherry Peek on July 25, 1969 in Alton.

 

Bill co-owned and operated the Godfrey Park N’ Shop in Godfrey, IL for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. He was also a member of the Godfrey-Alton Business Association and the Godfrey Lion’s Club.

He is survived by his wife Sherry, one daughter, Lori Tassinari of Alton; two grandchildren, Marc and Mia Tassinari; one sister, Bonnie Stemm of Godfrey; three brothers and their spouses, Richard and Sandy Huber of Godfrey, David and Vera Huber of Summerfield, FL, Terry and Janet Peek of Godfrey; and a mother-in-law, Lorene Peek of Alton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Marc Huber and one sister, Sue Ducey.

Visitation will be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.

Funeral Service will be at 10 am on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Father Shawn Monahan officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic School or Marquette Catholic High School.
