Virginia Faye Kruckeberg

Virginia Faye Kruckeberg (Ginny), 87 years old of Alton, Illinois passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Glenhaven Gardens on February 17, 2013.

Visitation to be held from 5 to 7 pm Monday February 18, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. Visitation will continue from 10 am until time of funeral services at 11 am at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey, IL on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 with interment to follow at Valhalla Cemetery with Pastor Mecaskey officiating.

Virginia was born in Jerseyville, IL on February 28, 1925. She graduated from Alton High School and from St. Lukes Nursing School in 1946. Virginia was married on June 27, 1946 to Eugene Kruckeberg.

Virginia worked as a private duty nurse and as an industrial nurse for Owens Illinois Glass Company. She enjoyed polka festivals and ballroom dancing, bowling, family time, arts and crafts and was active in her church.

She is survived by her husband Eugene, her children Nancy (John) Tucker of Alton and Kevin (Rori) Kruckeberg of Lake Villa, IL. She was loving grandmother to five and great-grandmother to six.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, August and Wilby Tomlinson and her brothers Norman Tomlinson of Alton and David Tomlinson of Mustang, OK.
