Virginia Christina (Jacobs) Ketterer, 86, was promoted to Glory at 9 am Thursday, February 20, 2014 at her residence.
She was born January 10, 1928 in Alton, the daughter of the late Grant and Florence (Rudd) Jacobs.
Virginia married Kenneth Ketterer on August 11, 1950 in Alton, Illinois. He preceded her in death.
She was a life long resident of Alton, a member of the Salvation Army Church, a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Leader and youth leader at the Salvation Army. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by two children; Cathie Ketterer of Alton and Brad and his spouse Sue Ketterer of Godfrey, two grandchildren; Kyle Ketterer and Kayla Ketterer, two great grandchildren; Shelby Ketterer and Jenna Ketterer, a brother; Otis Jacobs of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Per her wishes cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorial service will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Salvation Army at 525 Alby St. in Alton.
