JERSEYVILLE-  Teddy Ray "Ted" Elliott, 62, died at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at the home of his sister in Grafton, under the care of Blessing Hospice of Greene County.He was born on Feb. 27, 1953 at Wood River Township Hospital in Wood River, Il., one of three children born to Strait B. & Imogene (McKinney) Elliott.Ted graduated in 1973 from Jersey Community High School, and had worked as a CNA for various nursing homes in the Jerseyville area, until the passing of his father, at which time he became a caregiver to his mother until her death in 2011.Surviving are two sisters, Sandra Rowling of Grafton and Diana Travis of Bethalto; a niece, Kim Zimmerman of Grafton; four nephews, Keith Klopfer of Springfield, Bradley Klopfer and his wife, Kim of Valparaiso, In., Dickie Rowling and Gary Rowling both of Grafton; great nieces and nephews, as well as three great great nephews, Jessica Klopfer, Jake & Amanda Klopfer and their son, Cooper all of Valparaiso, In.,; Ashley & Josh Evans of Jerseyville, Emily Rowling, and her two sons, Oliver and Eric, David Zimmerman of Grafton, Rachel Zimmerman of St. Louis, Mo., and Megan Rowling of Jacksonville; an aunt, Barbara (Elliott) Scott of Godfrey; a lifelong friend, Gina Robinson of Jerseyville; and his feline companion, Clyde.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother in law, Richard "Dick" Rowling; a nephew, Christopher Klopfer; and his grandparents, Floyd & Beulah Elliott and Joseph & Rachel McKinney.Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016 until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  Rev. William Hendricks will officiate.He will be laid to rest in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.In recognition of his love of animals, memorials may be given to the Riverbend Humane Society in Jerseyville.
