T. Willie Walker, at the age of 83 transitioned from this world and received eternal peace at 3:14 a.m. at Christian North East Hospital.

Mr. T. Willie Walker was born December 22, 1931 to the union of the late Richard and Sara (Long-Brown) Walker in Jackson, Tennessee.

T. Willie, as he was affectionately called, confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at St. John Baptist Church # 1 In Jackson, Tennessee; he also attended Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. A. E. Brown.  In the later years, he united with the Transformers United for Christ Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Artemese Dennis.
He moved to Alton at the age of 13 to pursue a better life. 

On May 24, 1958, Mr. Walker married the late former Mary Lou Johnson, together they reared 5 children: Silas, Anthony, Darryl, Denise, and Debra. 

Mr. Walker was employed for Duncan Foundry for many years. He retired from Shell Wood River Refinery after 18 years of employment as a truck driver.

T. Willie has always had a heart for the community; he would farm crops and give them away to the less fortunate.  He was an avid bowler and became a Senior Olympic Medalist.  He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping; he used his hobbies to mentor men, and spend time with his entire family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Jordan; 2 sons, Silas and Anthony; 6 brothers, James, Carl, Walter B., J.T., Ernest, and S.B.; and a sister, Dorothy.

He leaves to cherish fond memories: a son, Darryl Walker of Sioux Rapids, IA; a daughter, Debra(Joe)Riddlespriger  of Alton; 20 grandchildren;  25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herron Walker of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Freddie Mae Vernell Walker of Alton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will convene Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9 until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple Complex C.O.G.I.C.  Apostle Artemese Dennis will officiate and Dr. Gregory L. Harrison will Eulogize.  Interment is to follow at the Upper Alton Cemetery.  Guest registry and condolences are available: www.harrisonfuneralchapel.com
