Shirley A. Olson, 86, of Godfrey, formerly of Naperville, IL passed away on May 9, 2014, at the Blu Fountains Manor in Godfrey. Shirley was born on May 9, 1928, in Memphis, Missouri to James and Edrie Boyer. She married Beecher Wilson in 1945 in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1974. She married Robert Olson in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, David Boyer and James Boyer and one sister, Rosemary Boyer. She is survived by one sister, Helen Ruth Cravens of Aurora, Illinois; a brother, Russell Boyer of Effingham, Illinois; a brother, Robert Boyer of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Charles Boyer of Columbia, Missouri; and two sons, Michael (Nancy) Wilson of Godfrey and Kenneth (Denise) Wilson of Birmingham, Alabama; and several grand-children and great-grandchildren.A Registered Nurse, she worked at hospitals in the Burlington, Iowa and Chicago, Illinois communities. She also served as a nursing instructor at Burlington Community College in Burlington, Iowa.Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 1 pm. Sunday May 18, 2014 at Two Rivers Winery in Grafton. The Rev. David Crowley of First Presbyterian Church of Alton will officiate. A burial of the ashes of Shirley will be held at a later date at Providence cemetery, Scotland County, Missouri.
