Sharon Y. Wahle, 79, passed away at 4:01 am, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Otterville, IL on April 21, 1935, the daughter of the late George J. and Nina M. (Phipps) Wahle.
Sharon was a dispatcher for several trucking companies. She also owned and operated Cross Country Trucking. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and playing the lottery, but she most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by four children, Vicky Reed of Gillespie, IL, Bill Coates of Godfrey, Sherry (Jim) Rutledge of Brighton, and Donnie Smock of Alton; two brothers, Larry (Jacqui) Wahle of Alton and Jack (Debra) Wahle of White Hall, IL; one sister-in-law, Norma Wahle of Alton; along with twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Fisher; one brother, Donald Wahle; one infant brother, George Edward Wahle, and a great grandson, Bryce Coates.
Visitation will be from 10 am until time of service at 1 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will follow at Noble Cemetery in Otterville, IL.
Memorials may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
