Rosemary L. Vitale, 88, went to be with the Lord at 1:20 am, Wednesday, September 30, 2015.
She was born in Wood River, IL on March 21, 1927 the daughter of the late Jasper and Sarah (Vicari) Ingrande.
On February 4, 1947, she married Dominic J. Vitale. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Rosemary was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a member of Eagles Women’s Aux.
She is survived by five children, Donald E. Vitale, Saralee (Roger) Watkins, Tina M. McCord, Leonard A. Vitale and Mariann Vitale; ten grandchildren, Heather Vitale, Kristine (John) Geisen, Tammy Scates (Brian Hamann), Julie (Harold) Scates, Sara (Kevin) Wuthrich, Donald (Liz) McCord, Jonathon (Rachael) Down, Erin Stobbs, Michael Dylan Bass, Tony (Mary) Roberts and nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dominic, daughter-in-law, Joann Vitale; son-in-law, Donald McCord; one brother, Leo J. Ingrande; two grandchildren, Timothy Vitale and Michael J. Brenneisen.
The family would like to say a special thank you to her caregivers, administration and staff at Jerseyville Manor.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Fr. Bill Kessler officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be directed to 5 A’s Humane Society in Alton or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
