Rose Malson

Rose Mary Malson, 59, died at 3:24 p.m, Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.She was born in Alton on July 17, 1955, and was the daughter of the late Eugene & Ida (Shoning) Malson.Rose Mary grew up and attended Alton Senior High School, and was a devoted woman to her family.Surviving are her life companion of 45 years and father to her four children, Ronald "Shorty" Mielke Sr. of Walkerville; two daughters & sons in law, Marian & James Cook of Granite City, Lacey & Scotty Ray Thompson of Roodhouse; two sons, Ronald Mielke Jr. of Eldred and Roy Mielke of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Scotty Thompson, Madison Mielke, Royce Mielke, and Emma Knox; a sister, Helen Scifres of Brighton; three brothers, Ronald Donaldson of Wood River, Steve Donaldson of Godfrey, and Eugene Malson of Dittmer, Mo.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, Cheryl & Jeanie; and two sisters, Lori Wolfe and Phyllis Miller.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Wednesday.Burial will be in the White Hall Cemetery.Memorials may be given to the White Hall Cemetery Association.
