Ronnie Dunning

Ronnie G. Dunning, 58, passed away at 9:51 pm, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Alton Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

He was born in Evansville, IN on June 23, 1955 the son of James and Betty (Effinger) Dunning.

Ronnie married Barb Bernt on June 15, 1991 in Alton at Main Street United Methodist Church. She survives.

He owned and operated Lee Bernt Auto Service. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton and a member of the Black Powder Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother Betty Dunning of Hopkinsville, KY, three children and their spouses; Daniel and Angie Dunning of Alton, Sarah and Eric Angleton of Alton and Angela Dunning of Alton, six grandchildren; Ryan, Andrew, Jacob Dunning, Korey Monroe and Matthew and Benjamin Angleton, one sister; Donna Hodge and four brothers; Jim Dunning, Roger Dunning, Glen Dunning and Kevin Dunning, father and mother+-in-law Lee and Mary Bernt of Alton, and many nieces and nephews.  

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister Debra Sims and two brothers Rick Dunning and Kenny Dunning and a mother-in-law Pat Bernt.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm December 29, 2013 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton, where funeral services will be at 10 am, Monday, December 30, 2013 with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be directed to the Main Street United Methodist Church or Methodist Men.
