Ronald Wayne Lievers, 64, of Richland, MO, formerly of Cottage Hills, IL, died at 1:03 a.m. Tues. Dec. 9, 2014 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO.

He was born June 15, 1950 in Wood River, IL to the late James Harley & Beulah (King) Lievers.

On June 12, 1983 he and Bette A. Baker were married in Bethalto, IL.  She survives in Richland, MO.

Ron was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and a former member of the Cottage Hills VFW.  He loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Duane (Cathy) Lievers of Cottage Hills, 2 daughters, Melissa Lievers of Alton, IL and Ann (Matthew Cifaldi) Carpenter of MO, 4 step-sons, Michael (Brenda) Gray of MO, Brian Gray of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel (Courtney) Gray and Timothy Gray of MO, 6 grandchildren, Robert & Christopher Carpenter, Michael Lievers, Scot & Andrew McCarty and Sawyer Morehead, 4 step-grandchildren, Robin Sapp, Cody, Amber & Cory Gray, a great-grandson, Lucas Carpenter, a step-great-grandson, Carson Sapp, 4 sisters, Nadine Parks, Maxine Hutton and Christine (Robert) Weinmann of Cottage Hills and Patricia (Tom) Johnson of KY, a brother, Ed (Cathy) Lievers of East Alton and his best friend, Harry Waddell of MO.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harley Eugene & James Leland Lievers.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sun. Dec. 14, 2014 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, IL, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Mon. Dec. 15, 2014.  Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #1308.
