Ronald L. Dittmar, 68, passed away unexpectedly at 12:59 pm Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home.
He was born on January 23, 1947 in Freeport, IL, the son of Robert L. and Marie (Brudi) Dittmar.
He married Barbara J. Morhardt on June 1, 1948 in Wisconsin. She survives.
Ronald served his country in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971, during the Viet Nam War. He was a at Westster Aviation. He enjoyed bicycling, his corvette, fishing in the Ozarks with his family, drinking Miller Light and spending time with his family and friends. One of his best times was when he and his family vacationed in Jamaica.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa and Bruce Griesemer of Godfrey and Angela Eaker and Jason of Fosterburg; a sister, Kay Wilson; and his mother-in-law, Lorena Morehardt of Mt. Carroll, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Dittmar, a sister, Joyce Bautsch and his father-in-law, Glen Morehardt.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Monday, April 27, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
