Roberta Lea “Bobbie” Wagner, 86, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab. Born November 4, 1925 in Alton, she was the daughter of George R. and Stella (Tindall) Parish Sr.
She was a cottage industry professional baking and decorating wedding cakes for over 30 years until retiring in 1989, a 50+ year member and Elder of the College Avenue Presbyterian Church in Alton, and enjoyed wood carving. On January 26, 1944 in Godfrey, she married Harold W. Wagner Sr. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1999.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold W. “Hod” and Donna Wagner Jr. of Rolla, MO, and Donald R. and Peggy Wagner of Alton, two daughters and sons-in-law, Eva J. and Wayne Dick of Long Beach, CA, and Ruth L. and Robert Sumpter of Ottawa, KS, six grandchildren, Kevin Wagner (Trudy), Angela Nichols (Scott), Jamie Fader (Scott), Dawn Clark (Pete), Aaron Anderson(Kelly), and Haley Anderson, 11 great grandchildren, Katlyn, Abigale, and Justin Wagner, Sydney and Taryn Nichols, Delia and Naomi Fader, Liam and Evan Clark, Kellan Anderson, and Brodie Cullumber, and one brother, George R. Parish Jr. (Dolores) of Mountain Home, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Pauline Spickerman and Juanita Hanei.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at College Avenue Presbyterian Church. Reverend C. Dale Jackson and retired Reverend George Humbert will co-officiate.
Memorials may be made to College Avenue Presbyterian Church or St. Anthony’s Hospice.
