Robert Donald Rose Sr., 84, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis County, Mo.He was born in Cedar Hill, Mo., on May 29, 1931, one of three sons born to Theodore & Alma (Fisher) Rose.Bob was a proud U.S. Army Korean War veteran, and was employed in maintenance with Union Electric in the Portage Des Sioux, Mo. power plant, retiring in 1999.He married Hazel I. Lowe on April 28, 1972 at the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, and together they have been blessed with nearly 44 years together.Surviving are his wife, Hazel Rose of Jerseyville; a daughter & son in law, Judy & Don Dautenhahn of Robertsville, Mo.; two step children & their spouses, Leslee & John Zell of Morton and Ray & Jodi McSchooler of Canton; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers & sisters in law, Charles & Tommie Rose of Montana, and Russell & Elaine Rose ofFlemington, Mo.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Donald Rose Jr.; and a step daughter, Karen (McSchooler) Berry.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Saturday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church inJerseyville.  Rev. Dennis Hill will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church in Jerseyville, where he had been a longtime member.
