Robert A. Rigsby, 87, passed away 10:55 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at his residence.
Born in Hartford on May 22, 1927, he was the son of Robert H. and Elizabeth (Malone) Rigsby.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he worked for the Ford Motor Company before retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062; a Shriner, a past president and having worked the Christmas Tree lot for over 30 years; Past Worthy Patron of The Order of Eastern Star; and a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
He married Alma 'Bea' Lilley on August 28, 1946, then later married Janet A. Smith on January 1, 2001, both preceded in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Norma Rigsby of South Roxana; two grandsons, Robert Crockett of Wood River, Darrell Crockett of Los Angeles, CA; and a nephew, Terry Clements.
Preceding in death were his parents; both former wives ; and a sister, Evelyn Marie Clements.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. Rev. Alta Vaughn will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children.
