She passed away while visiting family on June 12, 2014 in Carlinville, Illinois.Rita married the love of her life, Mike Beach, on November 8, 1974 in Carlinville, IL. In 1978, they moved to Cordell, Oklahoma where they have made their home for the past 36 years. Rita has made a great impact on many lives while living in Cordell. She genuinely cared for many people, none more important than the children she cared for while working at Daycare Depot, Cordell Schools, and most recently, Cordell Headstart. Rita had a natural ability of taking care of others. Rita and Mike have helped many children while living in Cordell. “Miss Rita” has left a legacy which will live on for many years through the children, young adults, and adults she has known, comforted, cared for, and loved unconditionally.Rita was very proud of Mike and all of her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending garage sales, playing cards with the kids, spoiling her dog Bandit, and collecting marbles, especially the ones Mike made. Rita loved life and all of the people in it. Her contagious smile and cheerful voice will be missed by many.Rita is survived by her husband, Mike, of Cordell, five brothers and four sisters: David Castleberry of Farmersville, IL, Willard Castleberry and wife Karen of Atoka, OK, Frankie Castleberry of Tishamingo, OK, Robin Castleberry of Athensville, IL, Allan Castleberry of Athensville, Cheryl Dugger and husband Rick of Palmyra, IL, Jean Sturgiss and husband CJ of Lane, OK, Vicky Castleberry of Farmersville, IL, and Cathy Mayhue and husband David of Coleman, OK, Step-brothers and sisters: Roger & Fran Goodman, Gene & Jan Goodman, Terry Goodman, Lee Goodman, Zelma Naugle and Patsy Scoggins, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends. She is also survived by her God-Children: Tonya Houseman, Tammy Edwards, Heather Davenport, Katelynn, Kolby, and Kara Dowell and their parents, Marcus and Kristen Dowell.Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father in laws, Helen Roberta Goodman-Thurston and Frank Goodman.  Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am on Tues June 17, 2014 at the Targhetta & Wooldridge F H in MedoraFuneral Services will be at 10 am Tues June 17, 2014 at Targhetta & Wooldridge F H in Medora with Rev Ray Robinson officiating.
