Richard Burger

Richard “Rick” Burger, age 71, of Godfrey, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, at Eunice Smith Home in Alton with his family by his side.He was born August 11, 1943, in Alton, the son of George and Doris Jane (Schaffner) Burger. He married Judy Reynolds on November 14, 1970 in Alton, and she survives.In addition to being a veteran of the U.S. Army, Rick was a machinist at Olin for over 40 years. He was a member of Community Christian Church in Alton.In addition to his wife, Judy; he is survived by a son and his wife, Dave and Jennifer Burger of Godfrey; a daughter and her husband, Sarah and Brandon Boyd of Lincoln; six grandchildren, David, Annie, Matthew, and Jane Burger, and Emma and Rachel Boyd; a brother and his wife, Don and Mary Burger of Alton; and many other friends and relatives.He is preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 10:00 am at Community Christian Church in Alton with Pastor Tom Cater officiating.Burial will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park.
